Our Investment Programmes Manager, Karen leads on the management of the LEP’s capital investment programmes – unlocking stalled infrastructure projects, and supporting business growth with grants and loans. In all Karen manages programmes worth around £148m which includes legacy programmes such as the £132m Local Growth Fund £8.1m Business Loan Fund created with the Humber’s original Growing Places Fund allocation, as well as £8m from the government’s Getting Building Fund.
Karen leads the Investment Programme team to work with partners across each local authority in implementing the processes set out in the LEP’s Assurance Framework and ensuring that the programmes meet performance targets in terms of spend, outputs and strategic objectives.
She is the key link with the LEP’s private sector Investment Panel and also represents the LEP as a Board member of the North East and Yorkshire Energy Hub. In addition, Karen led LEP activity to deliver Phase 1 of a roadmap for decarbonisation of the Humber’s Industrial Cluster and was instrumental in the successful funding bid and set up of Phase 2 – a £2.6m project to deliver the Humber Cluster Plan.
Karen brings a wide range of skills and experience to the role with a background in organisational development and an enthusiasm for investing in people and place.
