The vision for the project is to deliver a well-used venue in Hull, with performance, conference and exhibition capabilities, which interacts with the City, attracts visitors and business tourists, boosts the local economy and builds on the legacy created by the UK City of Culture 2017.

The Venue will be a flexible space which includes a new auditorium that can be used to host performance acts (including music, shows, sporting and other events), exhibitions, conferences and banquets. It will be designed to host small and medium events, with a maximum capacity of 3,500 people.

The new venue is approximately 9,000m² set over six levels and will be located on a vacant brownfield site in Hull’s city centre. The Venue will:

  • cater for a maximum capacity of 3,500 (seated and standing)
  • provide a conference auditorium for 800 delegates
  • include breakout spaces/meeting rooms for 400 delegates in rooms of various sizes
  • cater for exhibitions (2,000m² within the Venue)
  • provide banqueting facilities for 800 persons
  • provide VIP lounge
  • provide event food and beverage outlets
  • have a landmark external design.

The project also includes for upgrade and remedial works to the existing adjacent multi-storey car park and all associated external works within the site boundary. The project scope also includes demolition works to various existing buildings and structures on site.
