Please note this project is now being monitored by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Within the UK there is limited access to high quality training at all levels that is focussed specifically on the chemical process and renewable sectors. This gap in skills centre provision has been recognised by a number of National bodies including the Chemistry Council, the Chemical Industries Association, the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board, Energy & Utility Skills and Tank Storage Association (TSA). CATCH has grown industrial membership to include a wide range of organisations including process, energy, engineering and renewables working closely with industry and stakeholders.

CATCH has formulated plans to further support industrial scale training needs, including the Oil & Pipeline Association and Offshore Renewables skills which need some 36,000 people by 2032 – a 260% increase in the current workforce. This proposal supports the OPA’s plan to invest £110,000 in a process plant expansion to support Tank Storage Operations and associated classroom and site improvements to accommodate the increased learner numbers this will bring. CATCH supports a number of professional training providers on site including Reynolds Training Services, the Humber Engineering Training Association and North Lindsey College. The CATCH site consists of a unique full scale process plant, workshops and classrooms that support the development of personnel in industry throughout their careers. Including work experience, apprenticeships, adult training and degree apprenticeships.

This project has now transferred to Greater Lincolnshire LEP for monitoring purposes.
