Employment and social inclusion programme supporting young people aged 18-24 (and a number of those aged 25-29) in the Humber get into employment or training.

The programme provides support though a Key Worker model and delivered by Humber Learning Consortium in partnership with 20 local organisations, including the 4 Humber Local Authorities.  There is a diverse range of needs-led provision including mental health support, support for lone parents and a learner support fund.  The programme also provides an employer wage subsidy.

Funding

£10.4m funding package made up of Youth Enterprise Initiative Funding (YEI), European Social Fund (ESF) and match funding.

A further £5m of ESF and YEI investment has been secured which will enable delivery in Hull to continue until 2022.

Outputs

Targets:

Hull – supporting 2,500 unemployed / inactive 16-29 year olds
Humber – supporting 500 unemployed / inactive 16-24 year olds

Of the 2,750 young people supported in the initial phase of the project to July 2018, 848 have progressed into work, further education or apprenticeships and 2,214 qualifications have been achieved.
