The project is a strategic approach to environmental mitigation and economic development in the South Humber Bank (SHB).  The project will create mitigation land and thereby protect the environment whilst also building investor confidence in the local area.

A Natura 2000 site, the Humber supports birds, estuarine habitat and a rich variety of fauna. Its protection is critical to biodiversity and the wellbeing of surrounding communities.

The SHB is key to the Humber economy. Home to the UK’s largest Ports complex (Immingham & Grimsby), significant Oil refining capacity and developments in Renewables, SHB has scope for large-scale economic growth.
