Catherine Bishop took up the role of Chief Executive of the Tigers Sport and Community Trust in April 2019. Prior to this she was a Director of EN:Able Futures (Futureworks Yorkshire) which she co-founded in 2013, a social enterprise established to support the creation of construction apprenticeships for young people resulting from large capital infrastructure projects across the Yorkshire & Humber Region.
She has also held roles as Director of Programmes at the National Youth Agency, General Manager at Cityworks, and various senior positions at Yorkshire Forward and other organisations notably related to employment and skills and social-economic regeneration. Catherine is passionate about the importance of the role the voluntary and social enterprise sector can play in our local economy. Throughout her career there has been a clear theme of creating programmes which enable people to realise their potential and improve their well-being through investment, enhancement and equality of opportunity in their communities.
Catherine has been a member of the Humber LEP Skills and Employment Sub-Group for the last two years. Since joining the Tigers Trust, Catherine has becoming an active and supportive member of the female Head of Community national network and also represents the 72 EFL Charities and Foundations on the national EFL Trust Advisory Group. She is a ‘values’ driven leader with a curious mind, bringing a wealth of relevant knowledge and experience from across the charity, business and public sectors and an innate ability to ‘make things happen’.
