Sue has 37 years’ experience in the employment and skills sector. After graduating with a BA in Philosophy from UKC, she started out as a YTS Assessor with MSC, progressing through Jobcentre Manager, managing local regeneration projects in community non-profit companies, and self-employment. This broad experience has given her an insight the into different, sometimes conflicting, cultures and priorities across different sectors. Also, a good understanding of the challenges many less advantaged residents face, and why there can often be a gap between them and opportunities that are available.
‘I have a sincere desire to support the employment and training sector to be as effective as possible for the region and all of its residents, with an emphasis on inclusiveness and effective co-ordination of resources.’
