Andy joined Humber Learning Consortium (HLC) in 2003 and has been Chief Executive since 2010. HLC is a Hull-based education and skills charity that works in partnership with other organisations to support between 3000 and 5000 disadvantaged young people and adults every year, helping them to progress into sustained employment or further learning. MBA-qualified, he has extensive management experience in the education and social care sectors and a commitment to inclusive economic growth through the improvement of people’s labour market awareness, aspirations, and employability skills.
Over the past 25 years he has held a range of trustee and governance roles within local charities, sports organisations, and schools – including Chair of Hessle High School and The Consortium Academy Trust Sixth Form Boards. Living and working in the area, Andy advocates regularly and passionately for Hull & the East Riding and is now seeking to build upon his previous involvement with the LEP’s Employment & Skills Board and CEIAG Working Group to support and enhance the development of the region.
