Carl Southcoat is the new Workforce Development Business Advisor for the Hull and East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (HEY/LEP).
Carl leads on managing and communicating workforce development opportunities across Hull and East Yorkshire as part of the LEP’s HEY Growth Hub and Employment and Skills Team. Ensuring that business across the Humber region are directed to a support offer that is most appropriate to them.
Engaging with small, medium enterprises to promote and raise awareness of the benefits of the apprenticeship offer, to grow the number of local businesses employing apprentices, in conjunction with facilitating access apprenticeship levy transfer opportunities to support business workforce growth and development plans. Along with working alongside local training providers to promote Traineeship, T-Level, Internships and industrial placements opportunities with businesses to support the wider workforce skills development needs within a practical working environment.
On behalf of the HEY Growth Hub, which is a fully funded service that offers specialist free and impartial information, advice and guidance for SME businesses. Carl provides businesses with individualised support. Undertakes a full business needs analysis diagnostic to identify areas of support for future development. Along with raising awareness of latest funding initiatives available to support the economic growth and development of existing businesses and new enterprises.
