We are recruiting to the post of a Made Smarter – Digital Transformation Specialist.

This full-time post will work within the HEY Growth Hub which provides a range of business support utilising funding from UK government and European Structural Investment Funds and will also represent the York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub, which also offers a range of funded business support within its own geography.

The Made Smarter programme was created following an industry-led government review of how UK manufacturing industries can use digitalisation to make things smarter, better, and faster – becoming leaders of the next industrial revolution. Operating on a pilot basis in Yorkshire and the Humber in FY 2021/22, the programme will work with manufacturers across the region to help them adopt new digital tools, to overcome barriers to industrial digitalisation, and to champion UK manufacturing and the benefits of technology.

The Made Smarter pilot in Yorkshire and the Humber will be delivered via the four Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and their associated Growth Hubs. The purpose of this role is to act as the account manager for clients of the Made Smarter pilot and working with a portfolio of clients that have engaged with the programme. The Made Smarter Digital Transformation Specialist will be the key point of contact for Made Smarter clients and will manage the relationship between the business and all aspects of the programme as well as a range of internal and external business support services.

The post holder will undertake proactive business engagement to ensure that the Made Smarter programme is promoted through the two LEP areas and that business uptake of the programme meets established KPIs. The post holder will work alongside the Digital Transformation Specialists employed by Leeds City Region LEP and Sheffield City Region LEP. The role will involve remote working, as well as the ability for the post holder to base themselves with the two Growth Hubs as well as other locations offered by various delivery partners as required.

Due to COVID-19 we have limitations on staff working in our offices and the LEP is currently adopting a hybrid model of two days per week in the office and three days per week working from home. If you wish to discuss working arrangements, please contact the recruitment manager listed above.

The LEP would be open to candidates taking this role on a secondment basis.

Please note, this is a fixed-term post ending 31st March 2022.
