A key objective of the Hull & East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership is to facilitate economic growth by increasing the productivity of local employers. Critical to this is employers having access to a suitably skilled workforce.
The Workforce Development Business Advisor role is integral to this.
You will contribute to this objective by engaging with employers across Hull and East Yorkshire, particularly SMEs, to promote the benefits of employing apprentices to assist with business growth and development. You will also be responsible for developing, establishing, managing and monitoring the workforce development aspect of delivery, helping to identify opportunities to effectively communicate the apprenticeship offer, working with external partners and training providers to ensure businesses are directed to an offer which is most appropriate to them. You will provide specific advice to businesses in relation to workforce development, apprenticeships and industrial placements including T-Levels and Traineeships. You will also support businesses to fully utilise their own apprenticeship levy fund, facilitate unspent levy transfer and help SMEs access levy funding of larger organisations by acting as a liaison point.
You will work across all sector areas, providing feedback and support to the LEP’s Employment & Skills Manager and Growth Hub Manager to assist in continuous improvement, sharing best practice, supporting colleagues with CPD and organisational learning, and developing opportunities to enhance existing support mechanisms.
This is a fixed-term post until 31st March 2022 with the possibility of an extension subject to confirmation of funding.
