Businesses in Hull and the East Riding with employment and skills issues are welcome to attend next week’s Hull & East Yorkshire Manufacturers Network.
This month’s event, organised by Hull & East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (HEY LEP), will support those who have expressed an interest in tackling employment and skills issues that they have faced.
It will look at these issues across the region in detail and will have three key objectives:
1) To raise awareness of the current funding and support available for workforce skills development and recruitment by manufacturing firms in Hull & East Yorkshire.
2) To provide employers with the opportunity to champion careers in the manufacturing sector, by working with schools and colleges.
3) To establish a dialogue between employers and colleges/training providers with a view to improving the range and quality of apprenticeship provision for manufacturing in Hull & East Yorkshire.
HEY LEP board member, David Hall, said: “Our Manufacturers Network meetings have kicked off with success once again and I look forward to welcoming further businesses next week.
“Employment and skills issues are a problem for many firms and this event will help to open some doors for them.”
The event is free to attend and will take place from 3-5pm at Aura Innovation Centre, Meadow Road, Hessle.
All manufacturing and engineering firms from Hull & East Yorkshire are welcome, however booking is required to manage numbers.
